Inspiration!

Charlie Brown

We thought that the focus pull technique in this video was excellent. It gives a clear shot of the city before it focuses on the character. If we are able to use this technique in our own music video, it will make our video look more professional as it really draws the audience's attention. The use of lighting is also terrific. It is very inspirational for us, and we aspire to be able to use lighting effects to match that level of professionalism and make it look slick.

1975 - Robbers

The portrayal of their relationship here was also very inspiring. This video seems to fit more into the indie genre. The use of setting was also inspiring as it a common hang out spot for young people. It would add credibility to our video. Their costumes are also similar to the ones we plan to use. It's casual, unique, carefree and lair back which fits the style of the indie genre.

Mise-en-scene inspiration! -

Costume and Make-up

Since my group and I decided to dress the female character in a 90s grunge style, I decided to do some research and see how we could achieve the look. The make-up is quite simple and I think it won't be too challenging to achieve this look. The hair style is quite simple too. The 90s grunge style also conforms to the indie rock genre as it is a laid back look. Also this style is also quite unique so we think it would look great on our main female character.

I also decided to search the type of costumes our female character could wear. Since this style is quite trendy, it won't be too hard to achieve this look. Most females our age are into this style so we won't have to do much shopping.

I decided to research some of the make-up and jewellery we could use. We probably will find these items for free from our friends or the cast members themselves but I decided to search anyways as an alternative. The neck choker is cheaper on E-bay rather than at Topshop. There is a number of lipsticks we can choose from. We decided based on the price and which one would look better.

I watched some music videos as inspiration. We watched Charlie Brown for editing and lighting inspiration. We watched Robbers for mise-en-scene inspiration as it is an indie music video.

These are some of the locations we are going to use. These are only the locations we initially thought of. Now we have a number of other locations. We thought of going by London Bridge to film the sun set. Then We are going to go to Stream's house to film the beginning.

Clothes that conform to this type of style are easy to acquire without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money. Stream's wardrobe basically consists of these type of clothes so we are just going to borrow them for our costumes. We are also going to reclycle make up, we are going to use Stream's make up as well as as some of my make up.

Our ideas!
